Designjoy is a one-person design subscription: one senior designer, one request at a time, Webflow builds included, for $4,995 a month. People look for alternatives when they need more work moving at once, a team rather than one person, a lower price, or deeper product UX.
The right alternative depends on the work you need:
- Product, web and Webflow or Framer builds, closest to Designjoy: INSAIM, DesignShare, Awesomic, Design Shifu, Growmodo.
- SaaS product UX on a monthly plan: Eleken.
- Marketing and graphic design at volume: ManyPixels, Penji, Kimp, Flocksy, Draftss, Design Pickle.
- Enterprise creative teams: Superside.
INSAIM is a product and web design subscription for SaaS and AI startups, run by a team in Lisbon. Website and product work, including Webflow and Framer builds, costs $3,900 a month. Marketing design starts from $2,200, minimum 2 weeks.
Prices as listed on each company's website on 14 October 2026. Plans change often, so always check before you subscribe.
What Designjoy offers
Designjoy is run by its founder, Brett, as a solo studio. It has one plan at $4,995 a month, shown against a $5,995 list price. You add as many requests as you like to a Trello board, and they are worked on one at a time, usually with about 48 hours per request. Webflow builds are included, and you can pause or cancel. If you cancel in the first week, 75% is refunded.
The model works well when you want one senior person's judgement on a steady stream of product and web tasks. People usually start looking elsewhere for four reasons:
- Price. $4,995 a month is the top of the market for a single designer.
- One request at a time. Everything waits in one queue, whether it is a pricing page or a LinkedIn banner.
- One person. There is no second designer for parallel work, holidays or specialist skills such as motion or 3D.
- Scope. Teams that need product UX for a complex SaaS, or a large marketing volume, often want a specialist.
How we compared
We compared each service on the things that decide whether a subscription fits your work:
- the monthly price of the plan that covers the work you need, not the entry plan;
- how much work runs in parallel;
- what is included: graphics, web design, product UI, Webflow or Framer builds;
- turnaround;
- minimum term, pause and cancellation;
- trial or guarantee;
- one designer, a pool or a team.
This is INSAIM's blog, and our own subscription is on the list. We describe every other service from its public pricing page and say where it is a better choice than us.
Closest to Designjoy: product, web and Webflow or Framer
INSAIM
Best for: SaaS and AI startups that need product design, websites and Webflow or Framer builds from one team.
INSAIM is a design and development agency in Lisbon. Our subscription has two plans:
- Scale Up, $3,900 a month. Website design, product design, SaaS product screens, dashboards and onboarding, landing pages and pricing pages, Webflow and Framer builds, AI automations and integrations, plus marketing design.
- Startup, from $2,200, minimum 2 weeks. Marketing and communication design: pitch and sales decks, white papers, ads, social assets, emails, video explainers and AI production.
There is also a pay-as-you-go option with prepaid hours for 3 months.
How it works. One active request at a time in each workstream, so product, web and marketing tasks can run at the same time. You can queue as many requests as you like, and we plan them 1 to 2 weeks ahead. Most tasks are delivered in 1 to 3 business days. We work in your Slack, share progress on Loom and meet every two weeks. After the minimum period, you can pause or cancel at any time, with no long-term contract.
Who works on it. A team of senior designers and developers, not a single designer. [to confirm: dedicated designer or team per task.]
Trial. You can start with a small trial task to see our team, process and results before you subscribe.
Compared with Designjoy: $3,900 against $4,995 for website and product work, a team instead of one person, and Framer as well as Webflow. Designjoy is the better choice if you specifically want one senior designer handling everything personally.
Not the right fit if you mainly need a high volume of social graphics and banners on a small budget. A graphic design subscription from the list below will cost less.
What this looks like in practice:
- Exaforce, an AI security operations platform in the USA. The team had strong in-house designers but needed specialist skills. We took on Webflow development, motion and 3D without the client adding headcount.
- Scytale, a compliance automation SaaS in the USA. We refreshed a 47-slide deck in four days, then kept going with website pages and new decks as requests came in.
- MealPreply, a meal-planning startup in Portugal. After we designed the brand and landing page, we worked with their marketing team on the mobile funnel: quiz flows and meal plan screens.
DesignShare
Best for: B2B software teams that need dashboards, admin panels and product UI.
DesignShare charges $3,495 a month for a senior designer, a web designer and a project manager. Requests are worked on one at a time, most in about 48 hours, and web builds in Webflow or Framer are included. You can pause or cancel at any time.
Compared with Designjoy: a small team instead of one person, for less money, with the same one-request queue.
Awesomic
Best for: startups that want vetted designers matched to different kinds of task.
Awesomic's All-in-One plan costs $2,995 a month (or $2,396 a month on a quarterly term) and adds UI/UX, websites and no-code to graphics. The Graphic Pack starts at $1,490. Designers are matched by task and work part-time on your account.
Compared with Designjoy: cheaper, with a wider pool of designers, but without one senior person who knows your product well.
Design Shifu
Best for: small budgets that still need web and UI.
Design Shifu has three plans: $549 for graphics, $749 adding web design and UI/UX, and $1,099 adding Webflow or Framer development and motion. Every plan works on one project a day with 24-hour turnaround, and there is a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Compared with Designjoy: a fraction of the price for web builds, with less depth on complex product work.
Growmodo
Best for: teams that want a dedicated designer who also builds.
Growmodo lists $3,000 per designer per month for design and development, with discounts for longer terms.
Compared with Designjoy: priced per designer, so it scales by adding people rather than by queue.
SaaS product UX on a monthly plan
Eleken
Best for: SaaS companies that need deep product UX rather than marketing design.
Eleken works only with SaaS and offers a dedicated product designer for a flat monthly fee. Plans are priced by capacity, from about $4,599 a month, month to month after the first two months, with a free trial.
Compared with Designjoy: more SaaS product specialism, no website builds.
Marketing and graphic design at volume
These services are built for ads, social, presentations and other marketing graphics. Most add web design on higher plans.
- ManyPixels. From $699 a month for one daily output, up to $2,599 for two designers. Graphics, web design, illustration, motion and video are listed on every plan. No free trial.
- Penji. $995 a month for two workstreams of graphics, branding, print and email. Web design starts at $1,995. A full first-month refund within 30 days.
- Kimp. $1,397 a month for graphics, including landing pages and UI, with three active requests. Currently 50% off for the first four months, with a 7-day free trial.
- Flocksy. Sells designer hours: two a day for $1,699 a month, across graphics, web, motion, video and copy.
- Draftss. $530 a month for graphics, $1,190 adding web and app UI, $2,780 adding development. New customers get 50% off for six months.
- Design Pickle. No public pricing; plans are quoted on a call.
Compared with Designjoy: far cheaper for marketing volume, but not built for product UX or complex websites.
Enterprise creative teams
Superside
Best for: large marketing organisations with a big monthly design budget.
Superside starts at $15,000 a month plus a $1,000 monthly software fee, on an annual term. You get an enterprise creative team covering design, video and campaigns.
Compared with Designjoy: a different purchase. Superside replaces a creative department, not a single designer.
Subscription or a fixed-price project?
A subscription suits continuous work: new pages, campaigns, decks and product iterations every week. A fixed-price project suits a defined piece of work with a clear end, such as a new website, a landing page, an MVP design or a brand identity.
At INSAIM, we offer both. A landing page in Webflow or Framer starts at $5,000, a corporate website at $8,000, MVP product design at $5,000 and brand identity at $3,500. Many teams start with a project and move to a subscription after launch.
How to choose a Designjoy alternative
- Name the work. Graphics, product UI, websites or all three? Choose the plan that covers your main work, not the cheapest entry plan.
- Decide if you need the build. If your website runs on Webflow or Framer, check that development is included and on which plan.
- Count what must move at once. One request at a time is fine for a steady product queue and slow for a marketing team with weekly launches.
- Ask who does the work. One designer, a rotating pool or a team.
- Check the real price. Look for intro offers, quarterly or yearly locks, and the price in month six.
- Start small. Use a trial or a short first term before committing.
