Choosing a design partner is one of the first big decisions for an early-stage team. This list covers eight UX/UI and product design agencies in Europe that work with startups from pre-seed to Series A, with the facts you need to compare them: where they are, what format they work in, what they publish about price, who they have worked with, and when they are not the right fit.
This is INSAIM's blog, and INSAIM, a Lisbon-based studio, is on the list. We have kept our own entry to facts you can check, and written every entry, ours included, with the same fields.
Quick answer
On our scale, the highest-scoring UX/UI agencies for European startups are Arounda (93 out of 100), Eleken (91), UX Studio (80) and INSAIM (79). Pick Arounda for design and development with a published entry price and a free trial, Eleken for a dedicated SaaS designer on a monthly plan, UX Studio for research-led B2B products, and INSAIM for MVP design plus a launch website from one team from $5,000.
We are INSAIM, so read our own entry with that in mind: it is scored on the same scale as everyone else's, and the breakdown below shows where we trail.
How we scored them
We scored each agency out of 100 on seven criteria, each rated from 0 to 5 using only public information, and then weighted. Where we could not find public evidence, we scored 0, so if we have missed something, tell us and we will update the score.
Three notes on how to read the scores:
- The weights favour early-stage teams. Startup evidence, price transparency, entry price and a low-risk start together make up 60% of the score. A larger company should weight them differently.
- Reviews count, not ratings. Every Clutch rating we could check here is 4.8 or higher, so the number of reviews tells you more.
- Some criteria favour us, and some do not. We are strong on price transparency and entry point. We trail on review count, on published results from our startup work and on published trial terms, and the scores show it.
Scores reflect public information checked on 13 October 2026. Prices change often, so confirm them on each agency's site before you contact anyone.
Scores at a glance
Arounda and Eleken lead on published prices, free trials, reviews and startup results. INSAIM leads on entry price and sits fourth overall.
The breakdown below shows how each score is built. Each cell is the 0 to 5 rating for that criterion, before weighting.
Every zero means we could not find the information publicly, not that it does not exist.
The 8 agencies
1. Arounda, Tallinn, Estonia (93)
A design and development agency founded in 2016, with a 55+ person team and 250+ products delivered. It covers brand, website, UI/UX and development, including Webflow, and states that typical projects start from $6,000. Dedicated designers and developers are available on a fixed monthly rate, with a 3-day free trial. Clients include MYSO Finance, which raised $2.4M after the redesign, Enzyme and MOJO-CX, and Arounda says its clients have raised over $1B in total.
Pick Arounda if you want brand, website, product design and development from one team, with a published entry price.
Keep in mind: most of its published results are aggregate figures rather than tied to named startups, so ask for examples at your stage.
2. Eleken, Kyiv, Ukraine (91)
A product design agency that works only with SaaS, with 11 years and 400+ products behind it. You get a dedicated designer, supervised by its head of design: $4,599 a month part-time, $6,599 full-time, with a 2-month minimum and a 3-day free trial. Published startup results include SEOCrawl growing from 0 to 2,000 paid users and aampe raising $18M after the redesign. It holds 4.9 on Clutch from 100+ reviews.
Pick Eleken if you have a SaaS product and want a designer embedded in your team on a monthly plan.
Keep in mind: it does not take on non-SaaS products or standalone landing pages and logos; Eleken says so itself.
3. UX Studio, Budapest, Hungary (80)
A UX partner for B2B SaaS teams, combining user research and design, with development when needed. It works as dedicated, embedded teams and offers a free 5-day trial with 2 to 3 designed screens. Clients include Google, Netflix, Cisco and CrowdStrike, and startups such as Inquisita and Zignaly. It holds 5.0 on Clutch from 41 reviews, where it lists a $10,000+ minimum project size.
Pick UX Studio if your product is complex and you want decisions grounded in research with your actual users.
Keep in mind: it does not publish prices on its own site, and a brand-first launch site is not its focus.
4. INSAIM, Lisbon, Portugal (79, that's us)
A design and development agency for SaaS, AI and tech startups. Since 2016: 300+ projects, design partner to 80+ startups, a 15+ person team. Certified Webflow Partner and Framer Expert Agency, rated 5.0 on Clutch from 17 reviews. MVP product design starts at $5,000 (typically 2 to 4 months); the Startup pack, with brand identity and a landing page designed and built in Webflow or Framer, starts at $8,000 (4 to 8 weeks); and a subscription for product and website work costs $3,900 a month. Startup clients include Tapobit (MVP design for a B2B SaaS platform in one month), Happy Hero (pre-seed mental health app), Spiral (brand, website design and Webflow build) and Exaforce (AI security platform, Webflow site with 20+ pages).
Pick INSAIM if you are pre-seed or seed and want MVP design, brand and a launch website from the same people, at a published price.
Keep in mind: we have fewer reviews than the agencies above, we design products but do not code them (we hand off to your developers or partners), and our trial terms are not yet published.
5. Bonanza Studios, Berlin, Germany (70)
An AI-native product design studio with a senior-only team. It promises a clickable prototype in two weeks and a live product in 90 days, and offers a free 7-day functional app. Published results include $38K in new revenue in four weeks for Smart Legal and 2.3 times revenue growth in a year for Ooodles. Clients also include UniCredit, Zalando and Wefox.
Pick Bonanza Studios if you need to validate a new product fast and want design and build together.
Keep in mind: it does not publish prices, so you will need a call to check your budget.
6. Boldare, Gliwice, Poland (52)
A product design and development company with 100+ people and 300+ digital products released, from prototype and MVP to scaling. Teams deliver a working increment every two weeks. It holds 4.8 on Clutch from 57 reviews.
Pick Boldare if you need a full product team to design, build and scale.
Keep in mind: it does not publish prices or trial terms, and design-only projects are not its focus.
7. Humbleteam, Prague, Czech Republic (40)
A 49-person product design agency founded in 2017, with offices in Prague and Dubai and 80+ digital awards. It works in fintech, healthtech and sports, with clients such as Google X, Logitech, Tinder (BLK), DailyPay and Calm, and startups from the StartX accelerator. It holds 4.9 on Clutch from 35 reviews.
Pick Humbleteam if you are building a fintech, healthtech or sports product and want award-winning UX, UI and brand.
Keep in mind: it does not publish prices, and it focuses on design rather than building your website or product.
8. ustwo, London, UK (33)
A digital product studio with 20 years of design and development, studios in London, Malmö, Lisbon and New York, employee-owned and a B Corp. Clients include Google, DeepMind, Peloton and HSBC.
Pick ustwo if you are a larger company building a consumer product at scale.
Keep in mind: it scores low here because its published work and pricing are aimed at large companies, not because the work is weak; most pre-seed budgets will not fit.
Best agency by startup need
How much UX/UI design costs for a startup in Europe
European UX/UI agencies typically charge around €80 to €150 an hour, with a wider range from about €25 to over €200 depending on country and seniority. Most startups do not buy hours, though. The usual formats are:
- Fixed-scope MVP design: at INSAIM from $5,000, typically 2 to 4 months.
- Dedicated designer or subscription: published examples range from $3,900 a month (INSAIM, product and website work) to $4,599 part-time and $6,599 full-time (Eleken).
- Design and build of a full product: usually several times the cost of design alone; most agencies quote on request.
For a breakdown of what MVP design includes and how to split an MVP budget, see How much does MVP design cost in 2026.
How to choose
- Check named startup clients at your stage. Logos of large companies say little about how an agency works with a five-person team.
- Ask for the format before the price. Fixed scope, subscription or dedicated designer each suit a different stage.
- Ask who builds it. If the agency designs only, check how it hands off to your developers.
- Start small. A trial task or a short sprint tells you more than any portfolio.
- Mind the time zone. Daily collaboration is easier within two or three hours of your team.
If Europe is not a must
Outside Europe, Clay, Metalab and thoughtbot are often named for startup product design. If you are a B2B SaaS company rather than an early-stage startup, see our B2B SaaS version of this list.

FAQ
What is the best UX/UI design agency for a startup in Europe?
It depends on your stage and what you need built. For MVP design and a launch website from one team, INSAIM or Arounda; for a dedicated designer, Eleken; for research-heavy B2B products, UX Studio; for a full product team, Boldare or Bonanza Studios.
How much does it cost to hire a UX/UI agency as a startup?
Fixed-scope MVP design starts around $5,000; dedicated designers on subscription start around $3,900 to $4,600 a month; full design and build projects are usually quoted individually.
Should a startup hire an agency or an in-house designer?
At pre-seed and seed, an agency or subscription is usually faster and cheaper than hiring, and gives you a team rather than one person. An in-house designer makes sense once design work is continuous and core to the product.
Can these agencies also build the product?
UX Studio, Bonanza Studios, Arounda, Boldare and ustwo offer development. INSAIM builds marketing websites in Webflow and Framer and hands product development to your developers or partners. Eleken can deliver front-end code alongside design, and Humbleteam focuses on design.
